Why this set is good for Japanese learners
Every kanji has furigana (the small hiragana printed alongside). Demon Slayer ran in Weekly Shonen Jump, which is written for Japanese elementary and middle school readers, so the publisher adds readings to essentially every kanji in the book. If you can read hiragana, you can sound out every single line. That one feature is what makes shonen manga such a practical stepping stone into real Japanese.
A look inside our own copy
Reading manga is a fun way to build vocabulary, absorb grammar patterns in context, and get used to how people actually talk, complete with the contractions, sentence-final particles, and dropped subjects that textbooks tend to smooth over.
Roughly JLPT N4 to N3 territory once furigana does the heavy lifting on kanji. A few things to expect: the story is set in the Taishō era (1912–1926), so there is some period flavor in the speech. The Breathing techniques (呼吸) come with elaborate kanji names that even Japanese readers rely on the furigana for. And several characters have strong verbal quirks. Inosuke shouts, Zenitsu panics, and Nezuko barely speaks at all.

If you have already watched the anime, start here. Knowing the story removes the comprehension pressure and lets you focus on the language, which is exactly the position you want to be in when reading your first long series in Japanese.
The story
Kamado Tanjirō (竈門炭治郎) comes home to find his family slaughtered by a demon. His younger sister Nezuko (禰豆子) survives, but has been turned into a demon herself. To find a cure and avenge his family, Tanjirō joins the Demon Slayer Corps (鬼殺隊). What follows is a story about persistence, grief, and unusual kindness toward one's enemies, which is a large part of why it became the phenomenon it did.

Every volume is complete and fully readable, with no writing or highlighting, no loose or missing pages, and nothing heavily damaged.
Expect ordinary signs of a used book: page-edge tanning and some shelf wear. Most volumes come without the obi (the paper band that comes on new Japanese books), though a few happen to still have theirs.
We would rather show you than tell you. One of the photos above is a close-up of the page edges, so you can see exactly what we mean by reading grade before you buy. That tanning is what a well-read Japanese paperback looks like after a few years on a shelf, and it has no effect at all on the printing inside.
